MSI has a long list of gaming laptop names, and they change often enough that owners are sometimes unsure which one they have. The good news is that it matters less than you might think. We price MSI laptops on the card first, then on the model where we have it listed.
The ones we see most are the Thin 15 and Cyborg 15, usually with an RTX 3050 or 4060. The Sword 17 with a 4070 and the Cyborg 17 with a 5070 Ti sit higher. Anything else in MSI's gaming range is priced on its card, from RTX 3050 to 5070 Ti.
We buy working MSI laptops in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or one that will not start is one we cannot take. Courier collection is free nationwide, and you are paid within 5 working days of your offer being confirmed.

What affects your offer.
The card, plainly
With so many MSI model names, the card is the steadiest guide to value. A 4060 in a Thin 15 and a 4060 in a Cyborg 15 are much closer to each other than either is to a 3050.
Thin bodies and wattage
MSI's thinner models often run the card at lower power to keep heat under control. That is part of why a Thin and a thicker MSI with the same card can be priced differently.
Lid and chassis plastic
The Cyborg's translucent styling and the Thin's plain plastic both show scratches. Light marks are part of a Good grade, cracked plastic around the hinges is not.
Fans that sound healthy
An MSI with clogged fans runs hot and loud. A clean before you send it helps the laptop show what it can do in testing.
Wear and tear we are happy with.
We only buy working gaming laptops, in Excellent or Good condition. A MSI laptop that will not boot, has a cracked or flickering screen, or crashes and shows artefacts under load is one we cannot take. Ordinary wear from being played on is a different thing, and none of the below rules yours out.
- WASD and arrow keys worn shiny, or with the legends half gone
- Scuffs and light scratches on the lid
- Palm rest worn smooth from long sessions
- A battery that holds less than it used to, as long as it is not swollen
- Sticker residue, or a vinyl skin still on the lid
- RAM or SSD upgraded from the factory spec
- Original box long since thrown away
- Pressure marks on the plastic lid
We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.
Upgrading? Put it towards the new one.
Most people move to an MSI with an RTX 5070 Ti. Moving from a 3050 or 4060 MSI to a top-card model is a big jump, and trading yours in takes a real bite out of it.
