A gaming laptop is priced on its graphics card. Start there.
ROG, TUF, Legion, LOQ, Omen, Victus, Nitro, Predator, Alienware, MSI or Dell G15. Tell us the line and the RTX card, and the calculator does the rest.
- Brand line
- ROG, TUF, Legion, LOQ, Omen, Victus and more
- Graphics card
- RTX 3050 to RTX 5070 Ti
- Condition
- Excellent or Good
- Must be
- Working, signed out, wiped

That is all the calculator needs. It takes about a minute.
One part decides most of what a used gaming laptop is worth, and it is the graphics card. It matters more than the processor, more than the year on the box and more than the badge, because it is the reason anybody buys a gaming laptop second hand and the one part that can never be upgraded later. Our calculator asks for the brand line and the NVIDIA card, from the RTX 3050 at the bottom to the RTX 5070 Ti at the top, then for the condition.
The naming catches a lot of people out. A laptop RTX card is not the desktop card with the same name. It runs on far less power, in several tiers it is a smaller chip altogether, and the manufacturer decides how much wattage it gets. A thin machine and a thick one can carry the same RTX 4070 sticker and perform quite differently, which is why we ask for the line as well as the card.
We buy working gaming laptops only, in Excellent or Good condition. If yours boots, runs a game without crashing and has a screen in one piece, it qualifies, and worn keys or a scuffed lid are just part of the grade. Courier collection is free anywhere in South Africa, we test it at our warehouse in Johannesburg, and you are paid within 5 working days of your offer being confirmed.

What affects your offer.
The RTX tier, by a long way
Each step from 3050 to 3060, 4060, 4070 and 5070 Ti is a real step in the offer. If you only check one thing before you start, check the exact card.
The line it belongs to
Premium lines like ROG, Legion, Omen, Predator and Alienware tend to give the card more power and better cooling than budget lines with the same GPU. Second-hand buyers know which is which, so the calculator asks for both.
The screen it shipped with
A 144Hz, 165Hz or 240Hz panel is a large part of why people buy a gaming laptop over an ordinary one. A good fast panel with no bright spots or backlight bleed is worth looking after, because a replacement is a specialised part.
How it runs under load
Years of carpet, pet hair and dried thermal paste make a laptop run hot and loud. Cleaning the fans before you sell does not change the GPU, but a machine that games quietly at a sensible temperature grades better than one that sounds like a hairdryer.
Wear and tear we are happy with.
We only buy working gaming laptops, in Excellent or Good condition. A gaming laptop that will not boot, has a cracked or flickering screen, or crashes and shows artefacts under load is one we cannot take. Ordinary wear from being played on is a different thing, and none of the below rules yours out.
- WASD and arrow keys worn shiny, or with the legends half gone
- Scuffs and light scratches on the lid
- Palm rest worn smooth from long sessions
- A battery that holds less than it used to, as long as it is not swollen
- Sticker residue, or a vinyl skin still on the lid
- RAM or SSD upgraded from the factory spec
- Original box long since thrown away
We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.
Upgrading? Put it towards the new one.
Most people move to an RTX 5070 Ti laptop. Most people selling a gaming laptop are moving up a card tier, and the credit route is the cheapest way to make that jump.
