What affects your offer.
The card
The badge adds something, but the card still sets the bracket, and an older card in an Alienware is still an older card. Check it before you start.
Finish condition
Many Alienware laptops use soft-touch or matte finishes that show wear and shine more readily than bare plastic. Light marks are fine. Peeling or deep gouges move it down a grade.
Lighting and extras working
The lighting is part of the Alienware look. On a working laptop a dead lighting zone is minor, but say so in the calculator so it does not come as a surprise at testing.
The big charger
Alienware power bricks are among the largest on any laptop, and the card cannot run at full power without the right one. Please send it.
Wear and tear we are happy with.
We only buy working gaming laptops, in Excellent or Good condition. A Alienware that will not boot, has a cracked or flickering screen, or crashes and shows artefacts under load is one we cannot take. Ordinary wear from being played on is a different thing, and none of the below rules yours out.
- WASD and arrow keys worn shiny, or with the legends half gone
- Scuffs and light scratches on the lid
- Palm rest worn smooth from long sessions
- A battery that holds less than it used to, as long as it is not swollen
- Sticker residue, or a vinyl skin still on the lid
- RAM or SSD upgraded from the factory spec
- Original box long since thrown away
- Shine or light marks on the soft-touch palm rest
We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.
