For IdeaPads we buy Intel 10th gen and newer, including Core Ultra, and we decline anything older. To check, open Settings, System, About and look at the processor. An i5-1035G1 is 10th gen and qualifies. An i5-8250U is 8th gen and does not.
The IdeaPad is the laptop a lot of South African families bought for school and home, and Lenovo sold a great many of them with AMD Ryzen chips. If yours is a Ryzen model, put it into the calculator and it will tell you whether we can price it. If you are unsure, WhatsApp us the processor name and we will give you a straight answer.
We only buy working IdeaPads, in Excellent or Good condition. A plastic lid with scuffs, a worn battery or a missing charger are all fine. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not boot is not something we can buy on the Windows side.

What affects your offer.
Generation first
On an IdeaPad the processor generation sets the price more than the range name does. A 12th gen IdeaPad 3 can sit close to an older IdeaPad 5. Read the processor name before you choose anything else.
Core i5 and i7 over i3
Lenovo sold a lot of IdeaPads with Core i3 chips to hit a price. They still sell, but buyers pay more for an i5 or i7 on the same generation, and the calculator asks.
Memory and storage
Many IdeaPads shipped with 8GB of memory and a 256GB drive. 16GB and 512GB make a real difference to who will buy it next, so check them in Settings, System, About.
The plastic lid and hinges
IdeaPads are mostly plastic, so they scuff and the hinges loosen with years of opening on a lap. A tight hinge and a clean lid keep it at Excellent.
Wear and tear we are happy with.
We only buy working Windows laptops. If your IdeaPad is 10th gen or newer, boots properly and the screen, keyboard and ports work, this kind of everyday wear just moves it between Excellent and Good.

Most people move to an IdeaPad Slim 5 or a ThinkPad E14. IdeaPad owners who need something sturdier often step across to a ThinkPad E series, which costs a little more and lasts noticeably longer.
