That is all the calculator needs. It takes about a minute.

The Victus is HP's affordable gaming laptop, and plenty of them were bought as a laptop for university that could also run games. That makes it one of the more common gaming machines we see, and one with a steady stream of second-hand buyers.

The Victus 15 runs from an RTX 3050 to a 4060, and the Victus 16 we see most with a 4060. It is priced below an Omen with the same card, because HP gives the Omen more power and cooling, but a Victus with a 4060 in Good condition is still a properly useful machine and priced like one.

We buy working Victus laptops in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is one we cannot take. Courier collection is free nationwide, and you are paid within 5 working days of your offer being confirmed.

What affects your offer.

3050 or 4060

Most Victus laptops have one of those two, and they are a long way apart in the offer. If you are not sure, check before you start rather than guessing.

Keyboard and palm rest

Victus laptops often double as a study machine, so the keyboard sees a lot of typing as well as gaming. Shine is fine. Keys that stick or do not register pull it out of the working grade.

A battery that has lived on charge

Battery wear matters less on a gaming laptop than on an ultrabook, because most of them live plugged in. It is still part of the grade, and a swollen battery needs mentioning before collection.

Fans and vents

A Victus that has been used on a bed for a couple of years has usually swallowed a lot of fluff. A blast of compressed air through the vents is worth doing before it goes.

Wear and tear we are happy with.

We only buy working gaming laptops, in Excellent or Good condition. A Victus that will not boot, has a cracked or flickering screen, or crashes and shows artefacts under load is one we cannot take. Ordinary wear from being played on is a different thing, and none of the below rules yours out.

  • WASD and arrow keys worn shiny, or with the legends half gone
  • Scuffs and light scratches on the lid
  • Palm rest worn smooth from long sessions
  • A battery that holds less than it used to, as long as it is not swollen
  • Sticker residue, or a vinyl skin still on the lid
  • RAM or SSD upgraded from the factory spec
  • Original box long since thrown away
  • Shine on the space bar from long essays and longer sessions

We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.

Upgrading? Put it towards the new one.

Most people move to an Omen 16. Moving from a Victus to an Omen keeps you in HP's software and gets you a stronger card with better cooling.

HP Victus questions.

HP builds the Omen as its premium line, with more power going to the card and more room for cooling. The second-hand market knows the difference, so we price them separately.
