HP's serious gaming laptop is the Omen. Here is how we price it.
Omen 16, Omen 17 or another Omen. Card first, size second, then the state it is in.
- Range
- Omen
- Model
- Omen 16, Omen 17, other Omen
- Graphics card

- Must be
- Working, with its charger
That is all the calculator needs. It takes about a minute.
HP sells two gaming lines, and the Omen is the premium one. It gets the stronger cards, better screens and more room for cooling than the Victus underneath it, and the used market prices it that way.
The Omen 16 is the one we see most, with an RTX 3060, 4060 or 4070. The Omen 17 with an RTX 5070 Ti is at the very top of what we buy. Any other Omen is priced on its card, so a model we have not named is not a problem.
We buy working Omens in Excellent or Good condition. If it will not boot or the screen is damaged, we cannot take it. Collection is free nationwide, and you are paid within 5 working days of your offer being confirmed.

What affects your offer.
Omen, not Victus
Both say HP on the lid and both come with RTX cards, but the Omen is priced as the stronger line. Make sure the calculator knows which one you have, because people mix them up.
The card tier
From a 3060 to a 5070 Ti is the widest spread on any HP we buy. The graphics card matters most, and everything else adjusts the offer from there.
Heat and noise
Omens are built to run hard, and after a few years dust and tired thermal paste push them hotter and louder. An Omen that games without fans at full tilt grades better.
Screen quality
Omen panels are a big part of the appeal, with high refresh rates on most models. Even backlight, no bright patches and no scratches from the keyboard keep it in Excellent.
Wear and tear we are happy with.
We only buy working gaming laptops, in Excellent or Good condition. A Omen that will not boot, has a cracked or flickering screen, or crashes and shows artefacts under load is one we cannot take. Ordinary wear from being played on is a different thing, and none of the below rules yours out.
- WASD and arrow keys worn shiny, or with the legends half gone
- Scuffs and light scratches on the lid
- Palm rest worn smooth from long sessions
- A battery that holds less than it used to, as long as it is not swollen
- Sticker residue, or a vinyl skin still on the lid
- RAM or SSD upgraded from the factory spec
- Original box long since thrown away
- Faded or rubbed-off keycap legends beyond WASD
We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.
Upgrading? Put it towards the new one.
Most people move to an Omen with an RTX 5070 Ti. An Omen 16 with a 4060 or 4070 is a strong starting point for the next card up, and the credit route makes the step smaller.
