You are about to courier your laptop to strangers. Here is who we are.
That is the real question behind every buyback site, and most answer it with a stock photo of a call centre.
SellYourLaptop.co.za is Epic Deals, the trading name of Tech Revival (Pty) Ltd. We have been buying and selling second-hand technology in South Africa since 2013.
The business is 30 people in a warehouse in Johannesburg that is not open to the public. A shopfront costs money that would otherwise pay for the free courier, and a counter would only serve the people who could drive to it.
This is one of several storefronts we run, each pointed at a different kind of device. Same warehouse, same testing bench, same payment run at 4pm every working day. Someone selling a gaming laptop and someone selling a MacBook Air want different questions asked, and one site trying to ask both ends up asking neither properly.
The total across every Epic Deals storefront, read live from our own records rather than typed into a page and forgotten.
Worth checking before you send anyone a laptop.
A registered company
Tech Revival (Pty) Ltd, trading as Epic Deals since 2013. Registered and look-up-able, not an account that appeared last month.
2,800+ reviews
Under Epic Deals on HelloPeter, Facebook and bidorbuy. Enough of them that the bad ones are in there too, which is the point of citing a number this size.
A second-hand goods dealer
Buying used electronics in South Africa is regulated. We record what we buy and who we bought it from, which is also why a laptop locked to someone else's account is one we cannot pay for.

Our other storefronts.
Same company, same warehouse, same courier, same payment run. Just a different kind of device.
