Acer's Nitro has been one of the cheapest ways into a gaming laptop with a proper NVIDIA card for years. The Nitro 5 was the long-running one, and the Nitro V is the newer entry point.
That puts most Nitros near the lower end of what we buy, with the RTX 3050 and 4060 the most common cards. A Nitro V 16 with a 4060 or a Nitro with a 4070 is a strong budget machine, and the market for those is steady because they are exactly what first-time buyers look for.
We buy working Nitros in Excellent or Good condition. If the screen is cracked or it will not boot, we cannot take it. Collection is free anywhere in the country, and you are paid within 5 working days of your offer being confirmed.

The card is nearly everything
On a budget line the buyer is paying for the GPU and not much else. A 4060 Nitro and a 3050 Nitro are priced as different classes of machine.
Nitro 5 or Nitro V
The Nitro V is the newer design, and newer Nitros tend to be in better shape simply because they have had less time to collect wear. The calculator asks which one you have.
Plastic that has held up
Nitros are mostly plastic, which is light and practical but shows wear at the palm rest and lid edges. Light wear is fine. Cracked hinge covers or a lid that flexes at the hinge drag the grade.
Running cool
Budget gaming laptops run warm when new, and dust makes it worse. A Nitro that has had its fans cleaned games more comfortably and tests better.
Wear and tear we are happy with.
We only buy working gaming laptops, in Excellent or Good condition. A Nitro that will not boot, has a cracked or flickering screen, or crashes and shows artefacts under load is one we cannot take. Ordinary wear from being played on is a different thing, and none of the below rules yours out.
- WASD and arrow keys worn shiny, or with the legends half gone
- Scuffs and light scratches on the lid
- Palm rest worn smooth from long sessions
- A battery that holds less than it used to, as long as it is not swollen
- Sticker residue, or a vinyl skin still on the lid
- RAM or SSD upgraded from the factory spec
- Original box long since thrown away
- Paint worn off the edge of the palm rest
We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.
