The Legion is the gaming laptop people keep recommending. Sell yours.
Legion 5 or anything above it. The graphics card sets the price, and the Legion name helps it hold.

That is all the calculator needs. It takes about a minute.
The Legion earned its reputation on cooling and build. It is a heavier, plainer laptop than a lot of its rivals, and it tends to let the graphics card run near its full power without throttling. Buyers who have done their homework look for one specifically, which is why a used Legion holds its value better than most.
The Legion 5 is the one we see most, usually with an RTX 3060 or 4060. Higher Legion models with a 4070 or 5070 Ti sit at the upper end of what we buy, and the calculator prices any Legion on its card even where we have not listed the exact model.
We buy working Legions in Excellent or Good condition. If it will not power on or the screen is damaged, we cannot take it. Courier collection is free nationwide, testing happens in Johannesburg, and you are paid within 5 working days of your offer being confirmed.

What affects your offer.
The card, before anything else
A Legion with an RTX 4070 and one with a 3060 are different purchases to the next owner. The card is the first thing a buyer asks about and the first thing the calculator asks you.
Cooling that still works as designed
Thermals are what the Legion is known for. One that runs hot because its vents are packed with dust undersells itself, so a clean before collection is time well spent.
The display
Many Legions came with high refresh panels at 165Hz or more. A clean, even screen with no pressure marks keeps it in the Excellent grade.
The original power brick
The Legion's charger is big and specific to the model. A Legion tested on a weaker charger cannot run its card at full power, so send the original.
Wear and tear we are happy with.
We only buy working gaming laptops, in Excellent or Good condition. A Legion that will not boot, has a cracked or flickering screen, or crashes and shows artefacts under load is one we cannot take. Ordinary wear from being played on is a different thing, and none of the below rules yours out.
- WASD and arrow keys worn shiny, or with the legends half gone
- Scuffs and light scratches on the lid
- Palm rest worn smooth from long sessions
- A battery that holds less than it used to, as long as it is not swollen
- Sticker residue, or a vinyl skin still on the lid
- RAM or SSD upgraded from the factory spec
- Original box long since thrown away
- Rubber feet underneath worn or missing
We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.
Upgrading? Put it towards the new one.
Most people move to a Legion with an RTX 5070 Ti. Legion owners tend to stay Legion owners, and selling the current one is the easiest way to fund a jump of a card tier or two.
