Sell your Dell Latitude, if it is 10th gen or newer.

3000, 5000 or 7000 series, Core i5, i7 or Core Ultra. The model number usually tells you the generation before you even open it.

That is all the calculator needs. It takes about a minute.

We buy Dell Latitudes from 10th gen onward, and we do not buy 8th gen Latitudes. That is a different line from ThinkPads and EliteBooks, where we still take 8th gen, and it catches people out. A Latitude 5400, 5490 or 7490 is 8th gen and will not price. A 5410 or 7410 is 10th gen and will.

Dell's model numbers make the check easy. On the 5000 series, the last two digits follow the generation: a 5410 or 5510 is 10th gen, a 5420 or 5520 is 11th, 5430 and 5530 are 12th, 5440 and 5540 are 13th, and the 5450 and 5550 run Core Ultra. The 7410 is 10th gen and the 7420 is 11th. If your model number does not fit that pattern, the processor name will settle it.

We only buy working Latitudes in Excellent or Good condition. Ex-company machines with asset tags are welcome once they have been fully released. We cannot buy one that a company still owns or manages. For a whole office of them, use our business route.

What affects your offer.

Generation, read from the model number

On a Latitude the generation is the price. A 5440 and a 5410 look almost identical on a desk and are three generations apart in value. Check the model on the base label rather than going by when the company issued it to you.

Which series it belongs to

The 7000 series is Dell's premium business line, the 5000 series is the workhorse, and the 3000 series is the entry model. The calculator prices each model on its own line.

Battery after years on a docking station

Latitudes often spend their whole life docked, which keeps the battery at full charge permanently and wears it faster than you would think. If yours barely lasts off the dock, grade it Good rather than Excellent.

Keyboard and palm rest

Shiny keys and a palm rest worn smooth are the giveaway of a hard-working Latitude. It still sells, and being honest about it keeps the offer exactly where the calculator put it.

Wear and tear we are happy with.

We only buy working Latitudes, 10th gen and newer. If it boots, the screen and keyboard work and nothing is cracked, the everyday wear below is priced in rather than declined.

  • Company asset tags or inventory barcodes
  • Engraving or a laser-etched company logo
  • Residue from removed stickers
  • Shiny, worn keys
  • Scuffs on the lid and base
  • A tired battery from years on a dock
  • Missing charger or docking cable
  • A loose or missing rubber strip underneath

We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.

Upgrading? Put it towards the new one.

Most people move to a Latitude 5450 or a Dell XPS. A 10th or 11th gen Latitude still covers a fair part of a current business laptop, and the step to Core Ultra is a noticeable one in battery life.

That is where our cut-off sits. ThinkPads and EliteBooks are priced from 8th gen, Latitudes from 10th gen, and the calculator follows the same rule. If yours is older, our older laptop page explains your options.
