Sell your Dell Inspiron, 3000, 5000 or 7000 series.

Intel 10th gen and newer, working, Excellent or Good. The series number is a guide to the price, the processor is the deciding factor.

That is all the calculator needs. It takes about a minute.

We buy Dell Inspirons with Intel 10th gen and newer, and decline older ones. Open Settings, System, About and read the processor. i5-1135G7 is 11th gen and we buy it. i5-8250U is 8th gen and we cannot.

Dell's Inspiron range covers everything from entry-level laptops to fairly premium 2-in-1s, and the first digit of the four-digit model number tells you which tier yours is. A 3000-series Inspiron is the budget model, a 5000 is the mainstream one, and a 7000 is the higher end. The tier matters, but on the second-hand market the processor generation and memory matter more.

Inspirons with AMD Ryzen chips are common too. The calculator will tell you whether we can price yours, and you can WhatsApp us if you are unsure. We only buy working Inspirons, and that means a screen without cracks and a laptop that boots normally.

What affects your offer.

Processor generation

The model number does not reliably tell you the generation on an Inspiron, so check the processor itself. Each generation up is a step up in price.

Series tier

A 7000-series or Plus model has a better screen and build than a 3000, and buyers notice. The calculator weighs it, but a newer 3000 can still outprice an older 7000.

Memory and storage

Entry-level Inspirons often shipped with 8GB and a 256GB drive. More of either broadens who will buy it next.

Lid, hinges and keyboard

Plastic Inspirons show their age in scuffed lids, shiny keys and hinges that loosen. A tidy one sits at Excellent, a well-used one at Good.

Wear and tear we are happy with.

We only buy working Windows laptops. If your Inspiron is 10th gen or newer and the screen, keyboard, trackpad and ports all work, this is wear we price for rather than decline.

  • Scratches or scuffs on the lid
  • Shiny keys from heavy typing
  • A battery that no longer gets through a morning
  • A slightly soft hinge that still holds the screen
  • Missing charger
  • Old stickers or residue
  • No box or manuals

We buy Windows laptops working, in Excellent or Good condition. A cracked screen or a laptop that will not start is something we cannot buy for now. What we can do with a broken one.

Upgrading? Put it towards the new one.

Most people move to an Inspiron Plus or a Dell XPS. Inspiron owners who want a better screen and a metal body usually move up to an Inspiron Plus or an XPS.

Dell Inspiron questions.

Not reliably on an Inspiron. Some years shipped with more than one generation under the same model name. Check the processor in Settings, System, About instead.
